Travelling along Botany Bay, the site where Captain Cook first landed, pass through the Royal National Park. Stop at Sublime Point Lookout for stunning views over the coastline, where you can see as far as Wollongong and beyond.
Next stop Kiama, famous for its blowholes, an unusual natural phenomenon that shoots plumes of water metres into the air.
At the newly built Illawarra Flyway on the escarpment - a walkway built over the treetops, we take a walk for some breathtaking views over the valley to the sea. If time permits we also visit one of the waterfalls of the region.
After lunch we visit 2 wineries in this lush area of the Southern Highlands and sample the fruit of the vines.
Unusual and delicious foods are sold in the boutique produce shops where you have an opportunity to buy the gourmet goodies. |
